How to decide on your next project?

I have been busy the past few months with the final modules for a course with the School of Stitched Textiles. It's been fantastic, I love learning, and I've learnt a lot!
One of the pieces I created was my Nautical Shawl. I learnt a lot about the design process, from pattern writing to yarn selection, choice of colours and stitches to be used. I'm very pleased with the finished result.
Some creations take more concentration than others. Some can be worked on while watching the TV in the evening. Others need good daylight and concentration with no distractions. Some of you will know that working with black or very dark yarn can be really challenging. So how you do you decide on your next project?
I usually have at least a couple of projects on the go at any one time. One I can work on by day, and one I can easily work on in the evening without a pattern to follow and with a simple stitch. Here are a few of my recent daytime projects:

Knitted Emotional Support Chickens
I've been doing a lot of crochet so thought I'd dust off my knitting needles. This super pattern is by Annette Corsino at The Knitting Tree, LA. I made two because two chickens are better than one wouldn't you say?
Daffodil Flower Fairy The Flower Fairy Series by Clare Cooper for Simply Crochet magazine in 2022. I've finally got round to making a start with MARCH - The Daffodil Fairy. They are a little bit tricky but ok if you have some experience with Amigurumi. I've just finished APRIL - The Speedwell Fairy. Only ten more to go! These fairies are definately a daytime project. One error in reading the pattern and they could turn out a very different shape!
Windsurfer Shawl by Johanna Lindahl of Mijo Crochet
This is my evening project. It's an aysemetrical shawl worked in moss stitch. The yarn is Scheepjes Whirl, a fine fingering weight. It is a little time consuming but the result is worth it. It is super soft and lightweight, almost like fabric. It's a very easy project to do while watching TV. And the colour combinations are fantastic!
The inspiration for the Chickens and the Windsurfer Shawl came from a lovely little Perth based yarn supplier I've just found. They have some amazing yarn!

Although we are in Autumn, it is still very hot here in Perth. Hopefully it will be a bit cooler in the coming weeks and so I'm thinking of a new blanket design. Watch this space!
